Position Title: Operation Manager Location: Suzhou Reports To: GM
Overall Purpose of Job:
Lead and manage Operations for Suzhou Plant. To achieve the best performance results in the areas of product quality, delivery, process reliability, product lead time & efficiency, unit cost, customer satisfaction, and associates development.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Business Strategy and Plan Implementation. a. Support and achieve goals set in Suzhou plant business plan. b. Communicate Suzhou business, direction, goals, objectives and tactics in terms
that are understandable to all associates for alignment purposes.
2. Production capacity & efficiency management. a. Achieve production and productivity goals. b. Meet production needs as specified by order Management to meet customer demand. c. Identify and implement structural changes to assure continuous improvements in
labor productivity, capacity , efficiency and lean promotion to fit business
development and reach final cost saving. d. Manage minimized in-process inventory, but still have sufficient inventory to
insure an uninterrupted production flow. e. Assist area supervisors /managers in managing the shift assignments of operative
associates to achieve a balanced workload and maximum production potential. f. Identify lean production improvement opportunities to support business plan.
3. Logistic and Delivery Reliability a. Ensure that pieces produced match the timing and quantity requested with the
highest yield in the first time, as committed to with yearly Business Plans.
Meet or exceed customer on time delivery demands. b. Identify, support, and help implement programs designed to improve efficiency via
revised production scheduling and reporting. c. Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of production reporting. Develop a mechanism
to feedback any changes to rates, routings, setup times, utilization, scrap etc.
to the master database. d. Identify, implement, and communicate procedures to improve the delivery of
internal manufacturing, and shipping requirements of final products. e. Inventory control and management.
4. Quality Assurance a. Meet or exceed all quality goals. b. Monitor scrap daily/weekly/monthly. c. Identify and implement programs to reduce the cost of non-conformance. d. Ensure that procedures are in effect that maintain and continually improve the
capability of the workforce. e. Ensure that all product is manufactured to product engineering specifications. f. Identify and support the implementation of programs that reduce process
variability. g. Meet or exceed KPIs for customer satisfaction as stated in the yearly business
plan. h. Implement quality concept of saving parts instead of reject parts.
5. Engineering Development a. Identify, support, and help production in any improvement on capacity, tooling,
technical process etc. b. Engineering design, process design and other tooling design etc. on any new
products or transferring products as phase –in step. Also fully support after
the mass production from engineering point of view.
6. Maintenance Management a. Organize and manage maintenance team to support production. b. Continually develop and improve maintenance quality and efficiency to assist
productivity. c. Spare parts management based on cost & machines analysis.
7. Associate Relations a. Use the Lean 6Sigma team management concepts to involve all associates in
executing our business plans and tactics and to institutionalize continuous
improvement and resolve specific problems. b. Regularly meet with all associates and strive to provide challenging, rewarding,
and meaningful jobs that contribute to professional growth. c. Maintain a positive workplace environment guided by the Group and Gear
World core values. d. Meet or exceed Health and Safety goals for the plant, maintaining a clean, safe
and healthy work environment through proactive EHS management.
8. Lead, direct and develop the operation team as performance oriented and result
oriented. 9. Cooperate with each department/function to provide support to final achieve plant
business goals. 10.Other assignment is by GM.

Ø Good communication skill in local language and English. Ø Strong personality but with very good teamwork. Ø Strong leadership and people management Ø Good coordination and good implementation ability. Ø Business sense and cost management. Ø Open mindset and adapt. Ø Working under heavy pressure.
Education and Experience:
Ø Bachelor degree or above, majored in Mechanics field. Ø At least 20 years working experience in manufacturing industry. And at least 5
years experience in operation management position. Work from foreign automotive
manufacturing company preferred. Ø Be good familiar with ISO9001, ISO/TS16949, ISO14001 management system and Lean promotion preferred. Ø Experienced on automotive products or gears components preferred. |
